Dear Colleagues:
It is an honor to invite you again to our next XX International Seminar on Amebiasis 2023 during October 24th to 28th, in this occasion at the city of Mérida, Yucatán in Mexico.
Mérida was founded on January 6th in 1542 on top of the Mayan vestiges by Francisco de Montejo, who named it "Mérida the ancient pre-Hispanic city". Mérida reflects its ancestral heritage and combines it with a growing modernity, making this city a unique place to enjoy.
After the interruption of our seminar due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to offer you an inclusive, updated academic program of excellence, dedicated to the scientific community in the study of amoebiasis, as well as the study of other protists of importance to humans and their related areas, come together to disseminate, discuss, and share scientific knowledge within their area.
Our academic program will consist of master class conferences given by national and international colleagues who are leaders in their field, specialized conferences, oral presentations and poster sessions, which will cover different topics. We look forward to your enthusiastic participation and together, researchers, academics and students, to promote the advances of scientific knowledge in the field of amebiasis.

The package will be available until July 30th, after this date, it will be subject to hotel availability. Important note: The Organizing Committee gives you the warmest welcome to the XX International Seminar on Amebiasis 2023 and invites all attendees to make their reservation for the entire event at the host hotel, to maintain the special rates in the package offer which will help to have a better interaction among all attendance.

The hotel offers the same rates, per room, per night in single and double occupancy, for the weekend before the congress: Saturday 21th, Sunday 22th, and Monday 23th October, as well as the weekend after the event: Saturday 28th and Sunday October 29th.

All congress attendees must cover their registration fee. Only registered attendees will be able to have access to the sessions and we'll be able to count on the material and the memories of the Seminar, as well as all the events: welcome cocktail, coffee break and welfare gala dinner.

Scholarships for Students

Based on the resources obtained in the seminar, a limited number of scholarships will be awarded to students for lodging expenses at the package of the host hotel, in accordance with the following guidelines:

  • The student must have registered at the XX International Seminar on Amebiasis.
  • Be the first author of a submitted and registered work, as well as submit their application no later than July 16, 2023.

Scholarship Application

Send a signed request letter to our e-mail (seminario.amibiasis@gmail.com), on the letterhead of your academic institution, addressed to the 'Organizing Committee', with the approval of the tutor (lab leader or group leader), specifying that the student does not has financial support from any postgraduate program or institution, for lodging, to attend the congress.

From the confirmation of the scholarship and up to 5 days after it, students must send a proof of studies and a copy of their current student ID to the Seminar email address:
seminario.amibiasis@gmail.com.

Important notes:
Only one student per laboratory or work group will be supported.
The scholarships is non-transferable.

The summary of your presentation must meet the following requirements:

  • Document size: Letter
  • Maximum one page
  • Margins: Top and bottom 2.5 cm - Left and Right 3.0 cm
  • Single space between lines (1.0)
  • Title: Font size 16 Arial bold
  • Authors: Font size 12 Arial regular
    Presenting author should be marked by an asterisk and number (eg.Cecilia Ximenez 1*)
  • If the co-authors belong to different institutions, their names should be marked only
  • Institutions: Font size 10 Arial regular
  • Body text: Font size 12 Arial regular
The text should include:

Remember:
  • Names of microorganisms (genus and species) should be in italics

Oral presentations

  • Oral presentations will be selected by the organizing committee from all the abstracts received and the choice of the type of presentation chosen by the main author
  • Oral presentations will be in English and the text on the slides must also be in English
  • Presentations should be limited to 15 minutes
  • At the end of each block of exhibitions, we will have a joint question session, lasting 30 min.
